Located on the Arthur’s pass drive, the Castle Hill Rocks New Zealand are one of the many amazing geological wonders of the country, and one of my favorites. It is a place of Natural, historical and cultural value. And walking around those giant rock formation is so much fun!
The hill was so named because of the imposing array of limestone boulders in the area reminiscent of an old, run-down stone castle. It is private property and located within the Kura Tawhiti Conservation Area.
🚘Castle Hill is just a 60-70 minute drive from Christchurch Airport, which is a family adventure for all ages. Driving from Christchurch on State Highway 73, the walk is clearly signposted and will be on your left.
