The Scaligero Castle is a fortress from the Scaliger era, access point to the historical center of Sirmione. It’s one of the most complete and well-conserved Italy’s castles.
Scaligero Castle, in the commune of Sirmione, sits on a thin peninsula jutting out into the southern end of Lake Garda. Essentially, the ramparts of the castle function as a small fortified harbor for what was the Scaligera fleet.
A visit to the Castle is not only about culture and relax as from the building you can have access to the most panoramic spots of Malcesine: from the platform called “Rivellino” or from the tower, you’ll enjoy a 360 degree view you will never forget, that’s for sure!
