This was our first time renting a car abroad. We picked up and returned the car on July 13th, assisted by a friendly young man whose name we didn't catch. His service was friendly and efficient, and the procedures were simple, which eased some of our concerns. Especially when returning the car, we just refueled it, did a basic clean-up, and handed the keys to the young man to complete the process. The procedures were quite easy, and we were very satisfied.

This car rental experience was very unpleasant. We picked up the car at Bodo Airport in Norway on May 5th, and after driving 2000 kilometers in five days, we reached Rovaniemi in Finland. At that point, we smelled burning oil inside the car. We checked the dipstick and found the oil level was below the minimum mark. We called the rental office to ask what to do. The person on the phone asked for the license plate number, checked their system, and told us to buy oil at a gas station and keep the receipt, saying it would be deducted from the final bill. So we added 2 liters of oil in Rovaniemi, costing us 39.8 euros. The burning smell disappeared. After driving another 800 kilometers, we returned the car with a full tank to the Bodo Airport office on May 11th. When we returned the car, the office was closed. We put the keys and oil receipt in the dropbox. The next day, the office emailed me, claiming we added too much oil and that the oil was full when the car was picked up. They even said they needed to drain some oil. I replied, explaining that we called the office before adding oil and were told to handle it ourselves. I asked why the person on the phone didn't mention the oil was freshly added. I also said I didn't want the 39.8 euros back but to adjust the charges accordingly. Today, they sent a bill that did not deduct the oil cost and additionally charged me 765 NOK for a service charge! I always thought Hertz had good service, but this was an eye-opener. I've rented cars from Avis, Budget, Europcar, Alamo, and Sixt through Zuzuche, and never encountered such issues. All other companies provided a spare tire, but Hertz at Bodo Airport did not. I hope Zuzuche can resolve this. I'm willing to forgo the 39.8 euros, but if they charge the 765 NOK service fee, I will never rent from Hertz again and will reconsider renting through Zuzuche in the future. I will also share this experience on social media. I didn't take a photo of the dipstick before adding oil. I have attached the oil receipt, email communications, and the office's charge notice. I hope the platform takes this seriously. Thank you!

The rental process was quick. Signed the contract and gave a credit card authorization for the deposit, then got the keys and picked up the car.

Terrible, terrible, terrible! First, the car pick-up location was changed without any notification from the rental company, making us wander in the cold for half an hour. The new location was very hard to find! We almost missed our car because of this! Second, the car given to us had a wet interior with many water stains on the floor, and it didn't match the model we booked. The trunk was too small to fit our three 28-inch suitcases, causing us a lot of trouble every day trying to rearrange them! Third, we had an early ferry at 7 AM on the last day from Lofoten to Bodo, and needed to rush to catch our flight after returning the car. To be safe, we filled up the tank at a nearby station the day before and didn't drive anywhere else. It took just five minutes to reach the ferry terminal from the hotel and about seven to eight minutes to get to the car return point from the ferry in Bodo. When we returned the car, we confirmed the fuel gauge still showed full. Yet, we were charged a ridiculous fee for not returning the car with a full tank… 1199 for a supposedly incomplete fill-up? That’s outrageous! What a lousy rental experience! Terrible!

1. We booked a 5-seater Land Cruiser on the QEEQ website, but the actual store only had a 2-seater Cruiser, which couldn't accommodate our group of four. We then switched to an XC70 model, but due to either unclear communication from the staff or our misunderstanding, we thought the 938 NOK fee was the total cost, but it was actually an additional charge. 2. On the return day, due to unavoidable circumstances (ferry from Reine to Bodo was canceled due to strong winds), we had to drive back the same way we came from Lofoten Islands. Although we tried our best to return on time, the 8-hour delay resulted in an extra day's rental fee. It is unreasonable to make us bear this cost.

There was no one at the front desk for a long time. We booked a Skoda Wagon due to having many suitcases but it was replaced with a RAV4. The car key battery was dead, causing multiple instances where we couldn't unlock the door or start the car, forcing us to unlock manually.

Service personnalisé auprès de Budget. La personne au comptoir était prête avec nos documents et les formalités ont été effectuées très rapidement. La voiture était impeccable et nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir à la conduire pendant nos vacances. Le retour dans un autre aéroport s'est également déroulé très rapidement et sans soucis aucun. A recommander !
