空港にカウンターもなく、車両も空港で受け渡しはできず到着から7時間後に宿まで持ってくる状況。空港で借りられるというのは全く信用できない。

When I returned the car they said I had taken it with a full tank which I didn’t, it had 1/8 of a tank the same as when I returned. They said I took it clean, but it was dirty when I took it so I didn’t wash it before returning. The car had a low tyre pressure warning when I took it, they said it was a sensor fault and the tyre was ok, but I had to pump it up every day so cost me $8 and a lot of time messing around. You can only sometimes get in the back of the car for your bags as the tailgate mechanism doesn’t work 90% of the time too. Then they said they couldn’t refund my deposit to my credit card as it was a weekend. If I’d known that I wouldn’t have booked. I am still waiting for my deposit to be refunded a week later.....

Shouqi Car Rental has no location in Siem Reap, it subcontracted to Europecar, but neither the rental website nor the order indicated that. After a long-distance call to the rental company, they finally told us to go to the Europecar office, but the phone number provided was wrong. And the Europecar office was closed, but luckily, there was a contact number at the door. When we called, Europecar said they didn’t have any record of our reservation, which was frustrating. It took almost two hours and several international calls to finally get the car. Fortunately, we managed to convince a staff member to come from her home, which was several kilometers away. After all the hassle, we eventually got the car, and it was a relief that I spoke good English. The only consolation was that we got an automatic Audi instead of a manual Skoda since they ran out of Skodas.
