A vehicle can be driven across the Canadian border at any time, no matter what location it was rented from. It is recommended to have PERS coverage when using vehicle in cross border rentals for the US and Canada. The renter must have a valid driver's license and rental record to cross the border into Canada. Canadian law does require that everyone entering the country have a passport, so everyone in the vehicle must have the proper identification. There were hidden insurance fees; additional insurance was added when I picked up the car. Not sure if this is required by Georgia. Also, the Ford I wanted was locked, so I could only choose from Japanese models.

Thrifty provided a clean vehicle. The process was very easy and they accepted my QEEQ voucher with zero issues. I did purchase third party liability at the counter but had purchased all other insurance via QEEQ. There was no issue with acceptance of the insurance. Thrifty also only charged a $200 (two hundred) deposit. The return process was a breeze. I just parked the vehicle, grabbed my items, left the key in the cup holder, and walked away. It was all very fast.

First, I had to wait in line for over an hour. The staff at the front desk didn't clearly explain where to pick up the car, so I wandered around searching for the pickup area for this brand.
