A vehicle can be driven across the Canadian border at any time, no matter what location it was rented from. It is recommended to have PERS coverage when using vehicle in cross border rentals for the US and Canada. The renter must have a valid driver's license and rental record to cross the border into Canada. Canadian law does require that everyone entering the country have a passport, so everyone in the vehicle must have the proper identification. it was quite disappoint that the car supplied was a Tahoe, not a Yukon as ordered. I know this is simular as stated. but they we were told Thrifty don't even offer a Tahoe. so why even display they car for hire if not even available. also car was supplied to us quite dirty on the inside. we had to stop and clear the side windows as the passages in the rear couldn't see out of the windows.

Despite us being delayed in immigration due to queues and not getting to the counter until two hours after pickup tome the vehicle was not initially ready. The staff at the counter offered me a mini van instead which I declined. I had to sit and wait approximately 30 minutes before a vehicle was found. Then the counter staff tried to sell me additional insurance I didn’t need as it was all covered through the AXA policy anyway.

On the first day, the service attitude was terrible and wasted 3 hours of our time. They initially said an international driving permit was required and that a Chinese driving license was not acceptable. After consulting with the manager and checking the documents, they said it could be done but that personal third-party insurance was required, and the insurance documents needed to be provided! It was an unreasonable demand! Fortunately, we had a temporary green card, which allowed us to proceed. In all my years of renting cars, this was the first time encountering such an unreasonable demand! It took from 11:00 PM until 2:30 AM the next day to complete the process!

I am extremely satisfied with the overall service of the car rental company. In fact, this satisfaction exceeds my original expectations. I rented a car in Chicago and returned it in Los Angeles. The customer service at the Chicago O'Hare Airport rental company was very friendly and patient. Since my spoken English isn't very good, I printed my order beforehand. When I got to the counter, I handed them my printed order, highlighting the part about my pre-purchased insurance with a highlighter. The staff called someone over, and after a brief discussion, there were no issues. They didn't try to sell me any additional insurance. Interestingly, I originally booked a sedan, but the counter informed me that they were out of Nissan sedans and upgraded me for free to a high-end Nissan SUV with keyless start, which was fantastic. They charged an extra $200 on my credit card as a deposit and told me that it would be refunded the day after I returned the car. Surprisingly, the refund was processed immediately when I returned the car. The bill was clear, not a penny more or less. The return process was very convenient as well; the staff guided me to the parking area, did a quick inspection, and printed the receipt right there. I thought there would be more of an inspection, but the staff reassured me and told me I was good to go. Overall, I'm very satisfied, actually, extremely satisfied.
