Dislike: I had wait nearly an hour to pick up my call because they were late in cleaning the car. The staff member was really nice, but it would've been nicer if I had been able to pick up my car on time.
Car did not match the description. Agreed to pick up the car at the airport, but when I got there, there was no car, had to take a twenty-minute ride to the store to get it. The biggest issue was that I rented a Vios but received an old, noisy Kia instead. However, everything went smoothly after renting the car, and returning it was convenient.
First, the address was wrong. When I called, they said many customers had been to the wrong location before, and it happened often.
Then they mentioned the car was being delivered from Makati. Once I heard that, I knew it would take at least 3 hours to get the car (having worked in Manila before).
I eventually gave up because it was extremely congested. By the time I got the car, all my plans would have to change.
During this trip to Manila, I rented a car through the Zuzuche APP. The original plan was to pick up the car at 12 noon. Upon arrival at the pick-up point, it was completely empty. Called numerous times but no one answered. Is this HERTZ's service? Zuzuche customer service suggested we go to AVIS at the nearby Shangri-La. We asked several hotel staff, but none knew of such a place [frustrated]. Customer service then suggested we go to the airport. We waited for one and a half hours at the taxi waiting area without getting a car. Finally reached Ninoy Aquino Airport, HERTZ claimed the order was not related to them and did not have a car of the same configuration. Changing to another car cost twice as much. We spent more than 8 hours trying to rent a car, exhausted and hungry, and still failed. Customer service communicated with us but only us, not the car rental company, requiring us to contact the car rental company ourselves. What kind of logic is this? The entire trip was ruined, encountering such a situation drives you crazy.
Like: When we were looking for the International car rental at the airport, nobody knows that this is National Car Rental. Fortunately, the staff was the one who find a way to look for us. We felt relieved and satisfied with their customer service performance, both the counter agent and the dispatcher/checker. With this experience, we are extending our rental for another 12 days. Dislike: I hope that super insurance should be more affordable or even free for returning renters like us.
The car pickup was not at the international airport. The rental company sent someone to pick us up, and we retrieved the car in the city center, which was inconsistent with the location described in the order. This wasted a lot of time.
The airport counter was quite basic, but felt better upon reaching the store. The staff were professional and wore uniforms. The only downside was the small and somewhat secluded location.
My flight was slightly delayed, and with the queue at immigration, I arrived at the pickup point an hour later than planned. The staff told me that since I missed my pickup time, there were no cars available and I had to book another one at double the price. I called QEEQ customer service but couldn't resolve the issue. Eventually, the staff at the pickup point arranged a vehicle to take me to my hotel, but the fare was nine times higher than usual. A ride that usually costs 220 pesos ended up costing me 1900 pesos. It's outrageous! The Philippines is terrible for self-driving tours. Manila is full of traffic jams, chaotic traffic, and very few poorly managed parking lots. Luckily, I didn't rent a car this time. I'll never visit Manila again. During this 6-day trip, I bought a flight back after just two days because it's not a place worth staying.
Due to a delayed flight, I contacted the rental company to hold the car. They responded that the car would be held until midnight. I had booked for 4:00 PM, and when I arrived at the counter at 5:00 PM, they initially said they hadn't received my order. After some discussion, they found the order but said there were no cars available. The back-and-forth continued until 6:15 PM when they finally said there was a car, but that I would need to wait half an hour. In reality, I didn't get the car until 7:25 PM.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
