I’m still not sure what’s happened but I was informed by the rental agent and the car washer that I needed to pay them £135.00 to fix a chip on the windscreen, which I disputed. They wouldn’t let me leave the building until I paid. I explained that they had my details, they should write to me with evidence of any damage but they intimidated me into paying and actually said they wouldn’t let me leave until I had paid! I’ve made a customer service complaint and sent a picture of the clear windscreen. If it’s not resolved through the complaints process, I’ll move to a letter before action.
