Pick-up Instructions

The Holiday - Springtaipei car rental location is located out of the airport

Please contact the staff to pick you up to Holiday - Springtaipei car rental when you arrived.

When you get off the plane, please go directly out of the customs and meet the staff. If you arrive at the airport out of hours, please contact the branch staff in advance and make an appointment with the staff to pick up the car at the airport on the next working day. During holidays, please contact shop staff in advance by Wechat to make an appointment for airport pick-up

Drop-off Instructions

Before returning the car at Taoyuan Airport, please contact the staff by Wechat. And the branch will contact you by Wechat or telephone in advance. For after hours return, please contact the branch and return the car during business hours the next day with an extra charge. Please return the car as usual during holidays.

I have two complaints: 1. The rental company didn't provide a full-to-full fuel policy as mentioned on the official site. If you want to pick up the car with a full tank, you have to pay for the entire tank of gas. Although you don't need to return it with a full tank, you usually end up with a lot of leftover fuel, which is somewhat unfair to consumers. 2. I didn't use Sesame Credit as a guarantee, so the rental deposit was taken in cash—yes, you read that right, not a credit card hold, but cash paid via WeChat to the rental company's representative. This deposit is refunded only three months after the car is returned (if there are no traffic violations), which poses a financial risk for customers. I wonder if this is common practice in Taiwan or if it was just my experience.

The car pickup process was average and somewhat rigid. They immediately laid down three major rules about driving in Taiwan, which felt quite blunt. Then they complained about the poor manners of some previous mainland Chinese customers, which had caused them losses. This was their reason for not having full-tank returns. I was given a Toyota with the fuel light on, despite being promised a Nissan. No mention of changing the car model. Also, I was told that mainland Chinese customers wouldn't be able to use the onboard navigation because of pinyin. I didn't buy it and eventually figured out handwriting input myself. The dropoff process with the lady was much better, very friendly and talkative. Overall, it wasn't bad.
