Pick-up Instructions

This is a fully automated location. Identify yourself with the credit card used when placing the reservation, and your driver license matching the size of a plastic card and your passport/ national identity card if your driver license is issued outside Norway or Sweden. The credit card must be equipped with a chip and a 4-digit pin code and must belong to the renter/ main driver. The driver license must be in Roman script only. No other form of identification is valid. You will also need your reservation number at time of pick-up. At the time of rental a deposit is obtained on your credit card, there must be sufficient credit on your card. The vehicle will be parked next to the kiosk, in the Hertz designated area. All reservations arriving outside opening hours of the location will be charged NOK 625.00 (including tax) when collecting the vehicle. Out of hours fee will also apply all day on public holidays. You will not be charged after hours fee on your rental if you follow the pick up procedures for self-service key box or kiosk.

The fully self-service pick-up is quite challenging for inexperienced users. Fortunately, our English was sufficient; it took two phone calls and the self-service machine's camera to get everything sorted. There is almost no information about using the self-service provided on the car rental platform. For those not proficient in English, avoid choosing self-service pick-up. In Bergen, it seems only the airport offers staff-assisted service.

The scheduled pickup time was 1:30 PM. The Hertz staff delivered the car at 1:25 PM, so we couldn't get the car before then. The staff waited until we successfully picked up the car before leaving.
