The pick-up and drop-off agent couldn't speak English, barely spoke French, and we ended up using Google Translate to type and call their English-speaking colleague for remote communication. Second, the credit card guarantee was done in the parking lot, where the agent took out a POS machine from the back seat to swipe. But the machine wasn’t working, so they asked for a document deposit instead. Since I was returning the car at a different location and felt the company wasn't reliable, I refused and wanted to cancel the booking. After some discussion, the agent told me I could drive the car away without any guarantee. Can you believe it? Third, because I felt uneasy, I wanted to buy full protection insurance. They quoted me 2000, but when I said it was too expensive, they immediately lowered it to 1500 or suggested negotiating a price.
