This car rental experience was a disaster. I wouldn't even give them one star!!! It's a miracle Europcar hasn't gone bankrupt yet!! We booked a Volkswagen Golf in Frankfurt. The staff didn't enter our order into the system, and the car they gave us was broken. We didn't check carefully when picking it up and only realized the door wouldn't lock after reaching Heidelberg. Problems can happen, but what disappointed us most was Europcar's terrible service attitude. They completely ignored us. I asked the local Europcar in Heidelberg to change the car, but the staff just gave me the runaround, saying there were no cars and that our order wasn't in the system, telling me to fix it myself. The repair shop they directed me to said they didn't have the parts and couldn't repair it, advising us to go back to Europcar. Holding back my anger, I went back, and the staff just said, 'Oh, there's nothing I can do.' Is this really an attitude for solving problems??? Unable to endure it further, I contacted Zuzuche's customer service. Europcar's staff even refused to take their call!!! Do they think they can bully Chinese people easily? Finally, we drove to Stuttgart's Europcar to change the car. Initially, the local staff said yes and took my keys. But when I asked for a new car key, he changed his mind, saying our order wasn't in the system and he couldn't give me the key. I had to call headquarters and negotiate for a long time, waiting forever for them to enter the order before I got a car. And the replacement car wasn't even automatic (clearly stated in my order and repeatedly emphasized to the staff). Due to Europcar's staff mistakes, laziness, arrogance, and the car's issues, we wasted two whole days of our trip. I hope everyone can be cautious and not give money to such unscrupulous companies.

I booked a Mercedes A-Class, and after checking the website, I found that equivalent cars were Audi A3 or Infiniti Q30. But when I arrived at the store, I was given a Volkswagen Golf (which is much cheaper according to the website, and I would have chosen that to save money). The store said it was because this Golf had higher specifications. Very frustrating, but since there was no other option and I had already paid, I had to accept it. Due to changes in the pandemic situation, I was worried about travel restrictions when returning to Germany, so I wanted to contact the rental company for a different drop-off location. Although it was expensive (400 euros), the main issue was the customer service attitude. They were not accommodating at all; it felt like I owed them money and they were chasing me to return it to the agreed location. Customer needs changed due to the pandemic, and it's not like I wasn't paying the fee. They didn't need to make it so difficult for the customer.

I booked the rental car two months in advance and called Europcar before departure to confirm that there would be no issues picking up the car at the store. I rented an automatic BMW X1 and scheduled to pick it up at 10 AM. However, when I arrived at the store, they told me there were no cars available, not even the automatic ones, except for a Volkswagen Golf and other manual cars. I explicitly mentioned that the Golf couldn't fit our luggage, and we don't drive manual cars back home. After much argument, I finally got a significantly downgraded Toyota CHR at 11:30 AM. Despite the pre-authorization being lifted after returning the car, without any notification or email, they directly charged 87 euros. I am currently disputing the transaction.

Clearly specified on the rental car website that we needed a child seat when renting, but upon arrival, Europecar claimed they had no idea. The rental platform provided no after-sales follow-up. Poor service, not recommended. It's unreliable and a waste of time.
