I wanted to rent a car with a spacious backseat that could fit three 24-inch suitcases, so I specifically chose a Volkswagen Golf. I eventually had to call the car rental customer service to negotiate and finally settled at 507 euros. This situation highlights two issues: 1. This company's cross-border fee is significantly higher than others. Previously, I rented from another company with a cross-border fee of 6 euros per day. 2.
