The worst car hire experience of my life, terrible customer service and general chaos .

We arrived on time to pick up our rental car only to be met by a sea of people waiting to collect their cars . Firstly, there were only 4 staff working and they each took around 20mîns if not more to serve each customer! No sense of trying to speed up to help with the ever growing queues! Once we had waited for 2 hours and 20 mins (!!!) we finally had our number called . We were then met by an incredibly slow, unapologetic and borderline agressive member of staff. When we asked for an explanation for the long wait and utter chaos, we were given no apology ( as the representative of ACE should have done in basic customer service ) and just an aggressive and rude attitude whilst we tried to collect our car.
In the many years of travel and use of car hire companies at Bordeaux Meringnac airport I have never been treated so incredibly badly nor had to wait so long with no apology or basic customer service. I will never use this company again and will be sure to pass the word on amoung my contact , friends , family and anyone else who I know is looking for car rental .
The wait to pick up the car was rediculously long, especially in a warm airport with 2 young children. Counter staff were quite rude and once we realised car was far too small, we weren't able to upgrade. Wait for return was also quite lengthy.

The sign at Bordeaux Airport for ACE car rentals was a tiny A4 piece of paper with no other directions. Wait time at the desk was 10minutes yet took over 3hrs to get all the cars for my party! Was given 3 different cars, the children seats I had pre booked weren't available and as a result was pulled over by the police which was a horrific experience for my 18month old daughter. We were asked for a 1,400 Euro deposit each for each car which was news to us. Having finally paid everything and gotten our cars after multiple changes and a police stop (they wanted to make us get taxis for the kids) we were on our way. 2 out 3 cars we didn't fill up on return and were fined 50 euros per car atop the petrol cost. 1 car was filled up but apparently 4 euros short of a full tank and an additional 50 euro charge was placed on our card a week later (having agreed at the drop off the tank was full). Bottom line is this was the worst experience of my life and thing ACE and all their staff should be ashamed of themselves.
Waited over an hour, in a hot terminal, to pick up car. Staff said I needed extra insurance !! This was paid for up front, and they should have been made aware. Overall cost was £20 higher than original quote. On the plus side, car was upgraded to a new seat arona.
Terrible organisation. Looks cheap on the face of it but then they bully you into taking additional cover when you arrive.
Had already paid for extra insurance on time of booking and was told this wasn't sufficient and was useless and was then charged an additional 176 euros on top of the £80 i'd already paid in additional cover.
Would never use this company again.
