I rented a seven-seater car, but when I arrived at the rental company, I was told they only had five-seater cars available. They forced me to switch cars without refunding the price difference, and I had to rely on the intermediary platform to get back part of the cost. Do not rent from this company under any circumstances.
The service level was poor—it felt like a scam. The car I booked was clearly a hybrid, but things went downhill during pickup:
1. The first hybrid car they gave me was covered in scratches, overdue for maintenance, and the dashboard showed maintenance alerts. Since I was renting for 12 days and planning to drive long distances, I negotiated multiple times to get a replacement.
2. The second car they provided was also full of scratches. They asked me to take a video, so I did, but it wasn't a hybrid. I had no other option at that point, and to make things worse, it was raining that morning. The handover spot had no shelter, visibility was poor, and I could only hastily record the video.
3. Due to the lack of Chinese-language customer support, I couldn't understand their insurance upselling tactics. I assumed the platform had provided full car damage insurance, but it turned out not to be. The deductible was over €1,300 (about 13,000 RMB), which led to later issues. While driving, I accidentally grazed a curb, slightly scratching the right front rim and tire. The rear right rim also ended up with minor scuffs. There's also a light scratch on the right side of the car, but much milder compared to existing damage. Despite this, the car rental company determined the repair costs themselves and charged me €630 (around 5,000 RMB).
4. After returning the car, I had been told I could get an invoice. The company’s driver offered to take me to a nearby hotel (as my flight back home was early the next morning). However, upon getting in the car, he demanded a €15 tip. When I refused, he insisted on driving me to the airport instead. He claimed there were no taxis available at that time. I asked him to drop me off at the road leading to the hotel—just a few hundred meters away—so I could walk myself, but he forcibly drove us to the airport against my wishes.
I would avoid this company. It's an Italian local company that attracts people with low prices, and it is indeed cheaper than several other international companies. However, every time I rent a car, it's never the model I reserved. Last year, I reserved a Ford Focus, but got a Toyota instead. The trunk could only fit one 24-inch suitcase, so I had to put the other suitcase in the back seat. This year, I reserved an MPV, but ended up with a Peugeot SUV. We had three 24-inch suitcases and could only fit two of them. In the end, I had to pay nearly 400 euros extra to switch to a Skoda. What a rip-off! Also, because I didn't buy their insurance, they inspected the car very meticulously when I returned it. Thankfully, I was aware of their practices from last year.
Make sure to take pictures of everything, especially the windshield. Even small stone chips will cost you. My rented car was already pretty beat-up, and they charged me for those stone chips. Also, be sure to take a picture of the fuel gauge.
