About Europcar:2.0/10
The attitude was acceptable when picking up the car, but they tried to sell me insurance. When returning the car, the attitude changed abruptly, claiming there was damage (comparing photos taken at pickup, there was no noticeable difference). Then, an employee took out a card and placed it against the car door, explaining that there was a misalignment between the front right door and the front right fender (which can only be seen from a specific angle using the card, not noticeable from a normal view). I immediately contacted the car rental company's customer service, but the communication was unsuccessful. They offered me two options: 1. Accept the damage and file a claim through insurance; 2. Dispute the damage and potentially still end up paying for it, as it will likely be charged to my credit card. To avoid personal losses, I opted for the insurance claim (the car rental insurance requires the customer to pay first and then file for reimbursement). I argued with the on-site staff for a long time, stating that the vehicle showed no signs of damage (photos taken at pickup and return were identical). They didn't use a card to check for this when I picked up the car, so where did the damage come from? The staff member aggressively said, 'I handed over the car to you, and it didn't have this issue when I did!' I replied, 'Did you use a card to verify this during the handover? Do your job properly!' The staff member didn't respond and slapped a damage report on the table, demanding me to sign it. The inspector said, 'You have insurance, so it doesn't matter to me.' But I completely disagreed with this so-called damage. Does having insurance justify ignoring the facts and fabricating issues? Isn't this insurance fraud? I've rented cars in many countries and cities around the world, and this is the most shameless and dishonorable car rental company I've ever encountered. I will avoid Europcar in the future and advise others to choose carefully!!!!
