This company is really bizarre, full of weird and funny quirks, but the overall experience was surprisingly okay. Here's the detailed account:
First, I didn't see their store in any airport or city. For pick-up and drop-off, you have to call them, and they'll send an agent to find you. The pick-up and drop-off agent couldn't speak English, barely spoke French, and we ended up using Google Translate to type and call their English-speaking colleague for remote communication.
Second, the credit card guarantee was done in the parking lot, where the agent took out a POS machine from the back seat to swipe. But the machine wasn’t working, so they asked for a document deposit instead. Since I was returning the car at a different location and felt the company wasn't reliable, I refused and wanted to cancel the booking. After some discussion, the agent told me I could drive the car away without any guarantee. Can you believe it?
Third, because I felt uneasy, I wanted to buy full protection insurance. They quoted me 2000, but when I said it was too expensive, they immediately lowered it to 1500 or suggested negotiating a price. A girl with good English at a local Riad in Fes later told me that bargaining is ingrained in Moroccan culture and you can negotiate everything.
Fourth, the car had only 4 kilometers of fuel left when I drove out. How did the agent calculate this so precisely? Also, I had to pay the airport parking fee.
Fifth, I had a flat tire during the trip and called them for help. They told me to change it myself. The local shop didn't have an exact matching tire, but they said it didn't matter and just to replace it, showing a very relaxed attitude.
In summary, this company is seriously unprofessional. The good part is that it's really cheap and not too much hassle. The car was extremely dirty when I returned it, and they didn't say anything.
Extremely dissatisfied, waited for hours at the airport without getting the car. Made numerous calls to both the rental company and the booking company, but still didn't get the car. Finally got it the next day. The rental company's attitude was terrible and they were very dismissive!
The company staff didn't speak English, making communication very difficult. Also, their phone couldn't be reached, and I spent 2 hours looking for them at the airport.
“Avoir take car with diRent, realy bad ideo, no cutomer service, poor car quality”
About diRENT:2.0/10
The Car was dirty, no suport to find the Car, they are somewhere in the parking, in stead of being in the terminal.
No Water for Wippers
Car horn (klaxon) is defective
Tires and breaks in the worste condition
Very satisfied, both pickup and drop-off were convenient and easy to locate. The vehicle provided was exactly what I had reserved. During drop-off, staff were waiting in the parking area.
I had already paid over 200 RMB for full insurance on Zuzuche, but AVIS still charged me again. The local insurance fees were very high. Besides the 200 RMB paid to Zuzuche, I ended up paying over 200 Euros to AVIS. I paid the price for a BMW but got a QQ.
Even though I was speaking in English the whole time, the contract was given to me in Spanish, with a bunch of unnecessary insurance added. When I discovered it, they said it could be changed, but I would need to pay a 3000 Euro deposit. It's a scam. Who dares to pay such a high deposit? I had to accept the losses, and finally, I spent over 2200 Moroccan Dirhams for a two-day rental. I don't know if this is an issue with AVIS Morocco, the whole of AVIS, or Zuzuche.
The car was also very dirty and old. I rented a GPS but it couldn't even find the five-star hotel Savoy Le Grand Hotel in the city center. I ended up not using it at all.
One Euro should exchange for 1:11 Moroccan Dirham, but the car rental place exchanged at 1:15. The staff said it was automatically set by the system.
The entire experience felt like a scam! Is AVIS really a big company? Or does Zuzuche have no control over their suppliers? I hope other renters don't have to go through something like this.
Pick up point was impossible, contact number was on voice mail and was never given car papers and became an issue when i was asked for them when returning as I as never given them.
“Could be great. If you specified the correct data in the voucher.”
About Thrifty:8.7/10
Unfortunately, getting the car took me more than two hours. Since the phone number indicated in the voucher did not answer, and the name of the operating company was entered incorrectly.
And the deposit was returned about a month, despite promises to do it within a few days.
