We arrived at midnight (12:30), and when I presented my Hong Kong driving license and passport to pick up the car, the local staff said they wouldn't accept the Hong Kong license. After a long discussion, I had to get very angry before they finally gave us the car. It took about an hour and a half, and the most important thing is that the rental car website stated that Thailand supports direct car rentals with a Hong Kong driving license. I almost gave up but I had my wife and two kids with me, so I insisted. By the time we got the car, it was almost 3 AM, and we were very tired. I hope this situation doesn't happen again next time.
drop off area are not in easy area to get public transport to hotel.. i booked car before booking hotel in bangkok town. purpose going to hua hin from dmk airport.
when pick up.. asked staf at counter to change drop off somewhere near mbk.. they dont know. when return car.. hard to find taxi to mbk... car everything tip top. tq
