The pick-up and drop-off process was very simple and convenient. However, there was no electronic toll card, and the first time I encountered a cash only toll lane on the highway, I missed it. When I returned the car, I hadn't received any toll information yet, so I'm not sure how long it will take to charge my credit card. Also, since I was unfamiliar with the nearby gas stations and worried about refueling too early, I opted to let the rental company fill the tank and pay the fee. The service fee of $1 was acceptable, but they charged me $4.8 per gallon, which seemed too high for Chicago compared to the $2.5 I saw later in Dallas.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
