When I arrived, the line was very long, and I waited quite a while. The service lady's attitude wasn't very good, possibly because it was crowded and her English was poor. However, she did confirm if my luggage could fit into the rented convertible mini. So, there wasn't much to complain about. Returning the car was very convenient; as soon as I drove in, staff came up to guide and check the car's condition. The return process was smooth and quick!
The car pickup area at the airport is spacious, with all rental company branches located there. It's very easy to find. I initially chose a petrol vehicle but upgraded to a larger MG hybrid by paying an additional 20 euros per day. The driving experience was excellent, and I drove all the way from Nice to Milan.
The rental location moved from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2. After various inquiries, we found the rental point at T2, where many car rental companies are located. We took a number and waited, but noticed that people who were ahead of us had left, yet we were not called. The staff helped Western customers who arrived later before us. Finally, after about 40 minutes of waiting (despite many empty counters), we were served. Because we didn't read the details carefully, we booked a manual car instead of an automatic. The car rental desk told us that we had to pay extra for an automatic, so our original 50 euro per day rental increased by 33 euros (originally 80+ euros but discounted to 33 euros). After adding various fees (10 euros per day for an additional driver, 70 euros for crossing into Monaco, 20% tax, etc.), our total changed from 500+ euros to 1041 euros before the process was completed.
The female staff responsible for my rental process had an extremely poor attitude. She was impatient and unfriendly. My original order was about 1200, but she added a series of insurances, doubling the price. I tried to get her to remove them several times but failed, and she even tried to rush us out. Eventually, I had to contact customer service; she wouldn't answer the phone either. I communicated with customer service for an hour, and finally, one of her colleagues, a black man, helped to remove the insurances. By then, it was already past 8 PM. She didn't take us to the car; she just threw the keys at us. The car was not the Passat I had originally booked but an Avensis. When I asked her, she said the Passat was more expensive, which was absurd because my rental order clearly stated a Passat at that price. We didn't pursue the issue further as it was too late and we had to get to our hotel. One word: terrible!
Over 2 hours before we saw our car - terrible would not use them again.
