Picked up the car in Florence and drove to Rome, 400 km, visited many small villages

The process was very smooth. The booked car model was unavailable, but they upgraded us to a larger car after learning we had a lot of luggage.

Rented the car in Florence and returned it in Rome. Checked everything when taking the car, but the staff in Rome inspected it down to the tiniest detail and blamed us for everything. Italians must be really desperate for money. Been driving for ten years and never encountered such a scam.

Very dissatisfied. I clearly rented an automatic transmission car, but when I got to the store, I was told that only manual ones were available. Furthermore, for the same model, the manual version should have been cheaper, yet the price I had to pay at the store was higher than what was shown on the website. I paid 202.4 euros at the store for 2 days, whereas I had pre-booked for 3 days on the website for 177.73 euros.
