Overall, I was fairly satisfied. Although I had already purchased full insurance online, I was still persuaded to buy an additional $89.09 insurance at the counter. Despite having a Mandarin-speaking staff member explain the types of insurance, I still didn't fully understand the various terms and ended up signing without much clarity. When picking up the car, the staff initially didn't accompany us to the vehicle. Only after pointing out some scratches did they come over and document them. Additionally, it took some communication to understand that American cars do not come standard with a triangle or fire extinguisher. Returning the car, however, was very quick and easy; I just handed over the keys after turning off the engine, and there was no reinspection for scratches. I assume this is because the insurance likely covers any issues.
Waited in line at the airport rental area for an hour and a half, only to be told that the 7-seater I reserved wasn't available. Had no choice but to pay extra for a smaller car. One of the cars had a faulty door that wouldn't close after driving for two days, which was dangerous! We swapped it in Las Vegas, fortunately noticing it when parked; otherwise, it could have been life-threatening!
I rented a car from Daole for three weeks through QEEQ. Overall, I was quite satisfied with Daole's service and the car was in good condition. After exiting San Francisco Airport and walking a few meters to the left to reach the second floor, we took a shuttle train for a few stops to the rental counter. We submitted the printed voucher from QEEQ and got the car quickly after they checked our driver's licenses. We also added emergency roadside assistance insurance (excluding tax, $7.99/day). When returning the car in Los Angeles, we went to the airport five hours before our flight, only to find that the return location had moved from what was listed on the rental agreement. We found a small spray-painted sign with the new address (9150 Aviation Blvd, Los Angeles, CA, 90045) in an inconspicuous spot. We drove around twice before following the company's shuttle bus to the return location. Note: If it's dark or you miss the shuttle, this could be problematic. The return process was simple; the staff only recorded the odometer reading and printed a receipt, telling us we could head to the airport. The shuttle driver helped with our luggage and expected a tip. For groups, you can drop off luggage at the terminal before returning the car; it's only a 7-8 minute drive. After dropping off the luggage, someone can go into the terminal to fetch a cart that others have left behind (if you take a cart at the drop-off point, it costs $5). Renting a car was really convenient, and while they didn't check our driving translation notarization certificate, I recommend having one person carry it just in case.
The service was okay, but the wait time for picking up the car was too long. The car model was quite different from what was booked, and there were not enough reminders about details like where to return the car. We were supposed to get a baby seat but didn't receive one; to their credit, they didn't charge us for it later.
