We picked up the car at San Francisco Airport. The staff handling the pick-up kept insisting that I buy full insurance, even though I already purchased an additional insurance from ZuZuChe. The rental came with plenty of insurance, but he said it wasn't enough. He asked which cities we were visiting, and when I mentioned Las Vegas, he charged an additional fee of around $2 per day, saying that if I didn't pay it now, I would have to pay it in Las Vegas. During our trip to and from Las Vegas, we didn't encounter any such charges, and my friends in the US hadn't heard of this either. Up to now, I have no idea what the extra charge was for. Returning the car in Los Angeles was fairly smooth. We rented a minivan, and the car condition was okay.
