About Hertz: 6.0 /10
It was okay. The staff at the front desk were a bit strange. I had already purchased the highest level of insurance on the platform, but when I got there, they asked if I wanted to add even more insurance. For safety reasons, I agreed to buy their highest level, which cost an extra 40 AUD. They also asked if I wanted to pay 19 AUD for a benefit that covers tunnel and highway tolls, claiming that the cost of a single trip through a tunnel or on a highway would normally be over 30 AUD, so this would be a good deal. I declined, saying I could use Google to avoid those routes. After that, the staff stopped talking and their attitude became cold. How can they serve customers like this?

“Sydney to Melbourne”
About Hertz: 10.0 /10
I was very satisfied with Hertz this time. Picking up and returning the car was very convenient. The rental price was very affordable as I purchased the full insurance package from a promotion. After some consideration at the store, I also opted for the towing insurance at 3 AUD per day. The return location in Melbourne is right in the city center, conveniently on the left side of the road, and the return process was quick. But make sure to return the car on time!

“Sydney to Gold Coast, with a stopover in Port Macquarie, total 850 km”
About Hertz: 4.0 /10
Attention everyone renting a car at the Sydney Airport store in Australia: The staff at this store may downgrade the car model you booked without permission. I booked a Toyota Kluger (similar to the Highlander), but they replaced it with a RAV4 and told me it was sufficient. Only after insisting did I get the Kluger back. The person who attended to me was a Chinese who didn't speak Chinese, probably taking advantage of the fact that our English is not great. Don't let them confuse you! The $16.5 AUD per day unlimited toll fee package they recommended is optional. In reality, the drive (from Sydney to Gold Coast) was all on free roads, with no tolls. Don't be deceived!

About Hertz: 2.0 /10
The service was quite ordinary. I had bought full insurance from Zuzuche, but when I arrived, they aggressively pushed for more insurance, which wasted a lot of time. After the insurance, they pushed for an e-tag. When the guy asked where we were going, we said Blue Mountains, and he told us not to buy it. It turned out we did incur toll costs, probably a navigation issue. They pushed for various things, including a GPS rental, which was annoying. The car they gave us was an old Nissan with several tens of thousands of kilometers on it and no features. It struggled on hills and consumed a lot of fuel. They pointed out a few damaged parts on the car before we left. The parking lot was full of Corollas when we arrived, which felt intentional. It's like they gave us a bad car because we didn’t buy anything extra. I recommend buying directly at the store to avoid headaches. A few days ago, I rented a Mercedes with full insurance from the official EU website and got a free upgrade. Think about it.
