I just asked if I needed to add extra insurance, and they said no, so I picked up the car. When returning the car, I had underfilled the fuel by half a tank and offered to pay some money, but the staff said it was okay. This rental company feels very honest and straightforward, with no tricks.
Overall, not bad. Arrived at the store half an hour early, but they wouldn't let me pick up the car until the scheduled time—too inflexible. Got a small Volkswagen SUV, brand new with just over 10,000 km on the odometer. The booking stated full-to-full fuel policy, but in practice, it's based on the fuel gauge reading, which is hard to manage precisely. If you return it slightly under, there's a penalty with no room for negotiation, so you end up over-refueling. The company is very strict about vehicle inspections. Upon return, they even check the underside of the front bumper for scratches by touch. The return process requires an in-person inspection with an immediate report. If you return the car on your own without this process, you can't verify the vehicle's condition later, and it could lead to disputes.
The staff on site had a very bad attitude, and we could never get through on the phone. The online customer service was also unresponsive. It is impossible to return the car at the airport; you have to return it between 9 am to 8 pm when staff are present. I had to return the car a day early. I arrived at 7:50 pm and was constantly reproached for being late as they were about to close.
I had scheduled to pick up the car at 2:30 PM, but the car rental company was hard to find. When I finally found it, they said the car wasn't ready and asked us to wait for 30 minutes. Having rented cars overseas for many years, I had never encountered this situation, so I thought it wouldn't take too long and agreed to wait. However, 30 minutes later, the staff member who was supposed to help us was chatting and smoking with his colleague at the entrance. I asked if the car was ready, and he said to wait a bit more, that he didn't know. We had plans to drive 300 kilometers to a popular hotel to catch the sunset, and without the car, we couldn't make it in time. I called the car rental customer service, and they actively tried to help, but the staff was indifferent and said there was nothing he could do. We finally got the car at 5:00 PM, but it wasn't the one we reserved. Instead, we received a large, old, and broken car (the window was broken). Driving on the highway with an open window caused discomfort in my left ear. By the time we reached the hotel, it was already dark. Our first day's itinerary was severely impacted! We missed the best sunset and pool party at a 3000 RMB hotel, causing significant losses and ruining our travel mood! Avoid this company!!!
