The pick-up point is not at the airport, you need to take a shuttle bus which comes every 15 minutes. If you miss it, you'll have to wait in the cold for a long time, especially during winter. I recommend not renting at this spot if you're in Dublin. Moreover, the car provided was poorly equipped! It was an older Suzuki without cruise control, had a poor sound system, and the gear shift felt mediocre.
1. The car provided had over 150,000 kilometers on it, and yet they still demanded a 1500 Euro collision deposit and over 100 Euro fuel deposit (during my trip in England and Scotland, the rental companies only took a 200-pound deposit for the same insurance policy, with no other charges). If you do not pay, you can only buy the rental company's full insurance.
2. The car was covered in scratches, but these were not marked on the contract. You have to inspect and take photos by yourself and ask the rental company to mark them. Who knows how much of the 1500 Euro deposit you would get back if you didn’t mark the scratches yourself.
3. I also rented from Budget in Inverness, and the service there was much better compared to this branch in Dublin.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
