Average. The rental company didn't inform me in advance through any channel that I needed to bring two credit cards. They insisted, 'no card, no car,' which made me very angry. No matter how I explained or offered to pay a cash deposit, it didn't help. I had no choice but to return to the hotel to get another credit card. But what if I hadn't brought another one when I left the country? Would I have paid but not gotten the car? Unbelievable.
Picked up the car at Barcelona T1. Waited in line for about 15 minutes. The customer service representative was very friendly and although they did try to sell additional insurance, they weren't pushy. Just say no if you don't need it. The car pickup was in the underground garage, simply take the keys and go. Returns are at the same location as the pick-up. The parking lot is next to Area A. Make sure not to park in the wrong lot, or you will have to pay. Although there was only one person checking the returned cars, the process was quite fast, taking roughly 10 minutes per car.
I have rented cars a few times before, and Barcelona Airport in Spain is the worst. I saw many reviews online saying that they rip off Chinese customers, either by forcing you to buy extra insurance at pick-up or by charging ridiculous fees for minor damages when returning the car. At the AVIS Barcelona Airport branch, I returned the car during business hours and requested an on-the-spot inspection, but the staff kept saying they were about to leave and asked me to leave the keys in a box. The next morning, I received a text message on the flight saying that my credit card was charged 678.91 euros due to damages. I'm sure I drove carefully and there were no damages. I have photos from the time of pick-up, and now we are going back and forth. Even though I bought full insurance, which should have been handled by the insurance company, I feel it is unfair to be falsely accused like this.
At the counter, they told us there were no cars of the model we reserved, but there was one nearby. They only gave us a car that was just returned from another city, making us feel like we were overcharged for the one-way fee.
They upgraded our rental from a Volkswagen Touran to a Mercedes without informing us. Driving a 9-seater Mercedes in Spain was a nightmare, and the car was in poor condition. It even broke down halfway.
The waiting time was too long, typically taking over an hour. Just after getting off the plane and being very tired, such a long wait was really exhausting.
No tuvimos que pagar nada extra de lo que ya habíamos pagado en la reserva a través de qeeq.com, ni seguros, ni comisiones, estaba todo incluido a un precio excelente.
