The police here do not recognize international driving licenses, but the car rental company will still rent you a car and explain everything patiently.
Make sure to have the necessary number of credit cards; if you don't have enough, they can switch the car for you.
I was alone, yet the car rental process took at least 40 minutes. The child's seat was the wrong model and very dirty; they eventually suggested we buy a new one ourselves.
We arrived at destination early and the hertz wasn’t maned. Luckily the main office was over the road, so we picked up the car there. We got an upgrade on the car, which was lovely.
