AVIS claimed they don't have the car category that I booked and told me I must upgrade for an extra charge even though it's their fault. Very bad service.
Substantial added payments required on extra drivers (6$ per day per extra driver) whereas it has become standard to be included. Rental counter staff were not aware we have already purchased insurance. VAT was a substantial amount added on top of the rental amount.
In the end we paid over 1000₪ for an initial rental amount of ~550₪.
While on our trip, I reported that someone scratched our car in a parking lot. I had the other driver’s information and I filled out all the requested forms. I am very disappointed that this matter could not be resolved while we were still in Israel and that I was told I will have to wait several MONTHS until I can get a refund to my credit card of the $500 deductible! If there is a quicker way to do this, I would very much appreciate it.
“I am disappointed with the customer service of Europcar”
About Europcar:3.0/10
I was forsed to pay extra $190 for liability insurance when I was drooping off vehicle even I paid liability insirance when I did my booking
I had to give $2000 deposit which I was not informed before
Overall ok, but we had two important issues.
1. We reserved a full size miniva, like Kia Carnival and they gave us a Chevrolet Traverse, which is a bit smaller. Space was critical in our decision of where to rent.
2. They said they cannot accept the CC insurance forcing us to pay another $520 to get theirs.
About QEEQ:7.0/10
Overall ok also.
My issue is that if actually Europcar doesn't accept CC insurance it should be stated clearly a boldly on your website. Its a deal breaker that should not be hidden in the small print. Even the actual price of the car should be publisized differently.
Their customer service is very poor and they have charged me VAT on the VAT meaning extra $17 and they refused to even listen to their mistake or trying to resolve it, blaming QEEQ for not giving them the correct information and therefor charging me extra for no reason.
Undisclosed charges for insurance.
Everywhere in the world, the full coverage is accepted through AmEx. We had a letter from the AmEx that we have a full coverage for liability, but the Europcar didn’t accept it and charged for coverage. They also put a hold for $2,000 on m card and I couldn’t use it for the duration of my trip. This was not disclosed anywhere.
I returned the car but I didn’t have receipt it until 2/3/2024. The procedure is too slow. I took full coverage insurance so I don’t pay anything. Whenever I return car I received the receipt right away but not this time.
Nobody has warned me that rental at budget from the airport is only for tourists. Spent extra hour to take a car from another budget's office. The employee at airport wasn't helpful.
“Overall adequate I made it back to Tel Aviv in one piece
Thank you”
About Europcar:6.0/10
The car had some damage already that was not obvious at 1 am when I was exhausted from travel. It was added to my cost after returning the vehicle. I have a feeling this is a strategy to make extra money on poor tourists
Overall the van performed as well as expected

Update your rental vehicles. Don’t give out worn out damaged vehicles
The deposit should be 600 usd, they wanted to take 1700 usd and after I showed them the confirmation email from QEEQ we managed to accept 800 usd. Even if we presented a document confirming that we are insured, they told us that we have to buy at least the basic insurance for additional 15 usd / day. When we tried to make it clear for them that we are aleady covered, they told us we can go and no contract will be made. Terrible experience at the pick up.
When we arrived to collect the car the aeroport office was closed. Getting hold of a member of staff proved very difficult. Eventually they sent a van to collect us and take us to their depot. It was a very frustrating experience
