The Düsseldorf Airport location is right inside the airport, and the pick-up point is not far. The staff recommended upgrading to a Skoda Superb automatic for an additional 10 euros per day. The vehicle was in great condition. Since I had full insurance, the return process was very efficient and the staff completed the inspection in 2 minutes.
We had 5 people, so we rented a station wagon. It was a bit tight with the luggage, but overall it was good. Europcar's service was quite good, both pickup and drop-off were pretty quick.
I confirmed the order with the car rental customer service before picking up the car, and received an email from the rental company saying the reserved car was ready. However, the counter told me the car I reserved wasn't available and recommended another model, claiming the diesel car was very cheap. The cost turned out to be more than twice the original order. My colleague signed the contract without looking carefully, thinking the doubled amount was a pre-authorization charge. What’s annoying is that the counter didn’t mention anything about upgrading the car. For such upgrades, informing the customer is the least they should do.

About Europcar:8.0/10
When picking up the car at Düsseldorf Airport, the staff kept saying that the insurance I bought wasn't zero-deductible and strongly recommended I add coverage (costing over 300 euros). Although QEEQ had already advised against believing the rental company's upselling, I ended up buying it again (previously got tricked in Spain). This time there was indeed significant scratching. When returning the car in Switzerland, I was met by an intern who didn't know much and kept saying I rented the car in Germany and he didn't understand German. I asked him to check the system to see if my insurance would cover it, and he kept saying he didn't know. The other staff also didn't help explain it to me. In the end, I still don't know if my credit card will be charged, making me feel very uncertain even after buying expensive insurance.
The staff was very warm and friendly, even though we were finishing the car rental process near the closing time. Everything went smoothly. We rented a Touran but received an Opel instead, which had much more space. It was fantastic.
I reserved a Passat online, but at the store, they gave me a brand new Mazda Atenza Touring, which completely exceeded my expectations! The driving experience was excellent! The staff were very patient and had a great attitude!
