Drop-off Instructions

Please make your way towards the main entrance to the Hobart Airport. Immediately before the main entry to airport parking and facilities, turn left and follow the signs for Rental Returns. Bargain Car Rentals Returns are located at the right just before you enter the rental return car park. Park your vehicle and make your way inside the terminal to the Bargain Car Rentals counter at the northern arrivals hall of the terminal building.

    Bit confusing as to who is who in this process; Trip v Bargain v EasyRent? Desk at Hobart not signed so followed map link sent to us in email and ended up in car park at rental kiosk no longer used by anybody. Apart from the confusion on pickup, the experience overall was really good; staff at airport were great and car was clean, economical and very well priced.

    I had never heard of bargain before. I was price motivated and they were cheapest. Pick up was very easy, though the counter was quite busy and the car wasn't quite ready. They asked if I wanted insurance, I said I had travel insurance that included rental car excess coverage, they were fine with that. The car was clean and in very good condition,. They had marked all previous dents or scratches on a report for me. I bought the car back undamaged, and did a key drop return, my deposit was refunded in about 1 or 2 business days. I got a great price, andgreat service. I could have paid much more at another company, but why do that?

    I think what’s important is if you are using cars that are slightly older with a bit more wear and tear it’s important to reassure the renter that the previous damages are not there responsibility and that it is understandable that a car of a certain age and kilometre status will have such small marks and damages to show for. I spent the days thinking that people in the office may think we were the ones who damaged the car when clearly all the previous damage was just over time. In their credit they have not questioned any of the previous damage, but I spent a lot of time assessing it and noting it all down which is not time I wish to be losing on a quick break.

    Bargain claim the vehicle had a crack in the windscreen when they inspected it after I dropped it off at 5 am ine morning when they were not there. I certainly did not notice any such crack or I would have reported it to them by email.I have refused to complete a claim report as I know for certain I did not cause any crack in the windscreen..I am awaiting further correspondence from them..do you have any advice for me?

    No staff on duty and the keys were not left in the lockbox as agreed. I was stranded at the airport for two hours in 4-degree weather! According to airport staff, the lockbox for rental car keys was removed about six months ago, but the confirmation email from the rental company still directed me to the lockbox. The information is severely outdated.

    The company extended the rental period by two days as requested but actually charged for three days, and deducted the amount directly from the guarantee credit card without consent. When I discovered this and contacted them, they refused to refund and only offered credit for future rentals.

When picking up the car, the staff reminded me about insurance matters and provided a detailed vehicle condition report, including inspection details, with specific locations of every scratch and dent.     There should be an express lane for those that have pre purchased / booked prior to collection of the vehicle. The instruction emailed regarding the collection of key wasn't how it was and therefore we found ourselves waiting for a while in the queue. The car wasn't easy to find in the car park. There should be a detailed description given by the staff eg make, colour etc. Car (Camry) seemed old and consumed a lot of petrol. Wasn't what I ordered but understand that sometimes you don't get what was requested.
