Good
1. The car provided was smaller than originally booked. 2. There was a small problem with the rental car, so we drove back the next morning to change the car, and the car we changed was more in line with the original reservation, but it was an older car. 3.Returning the car is very fast.

Great car, OK service
Car was great. Staff tried to upsell. Return location was not as described, delaying arrival at airport.

Excellent
We were required to pay a collision "surcharge" even though we had outside insurance. Additions e.g. GPS, additional driver etc really added up.

Very good but stressful on return.
Drop off was misleading and totally confusing. Was supposed to open at 05:00 and I was there at 05:30. Gates were marked in red tape to say closed and open at 7 written over the 5. Return to car centre. Also why an extra charge to travel in Northern Ireland.

Car good, wait time for pick-up was less so
Waited quite a while in the terminal before being told to proceed to the shuttled bus to head to the pick up area. That time was wasted. Was initially given keys to a manual instead of an automatic. That was fixed quite quickly but was a pretty avoidance error.

I don't know why the rental price I was given didn't match my reservation and was three times higher. My original reservation was for 240 euros, but they quoted me over 670 euros twice. Finally, their manager came over and identified the problem, and they kept apologizing. They also tried to upsell us during the process. When returning the car, the same thing happened. They gave me a bill for 670 euros. What on earth! Are they crazy? The poor economy doesn't justify this. Passat, Passat.

Completed a Tour Around Ireland, Covering 4000 km, Overall Good; Roads in Northern Ireland are More
For some reason, the rental price I was given was three times higher than what I had booked. I had initially booked for a bit over 240 euros, but they quoted me over 670 euros. After confirming twice, they still insisted there was no issue. It wasn't until their manager intervened that they found the mistake and apologized. They also tried to upsell me to a higher category vehicle. The same issue occurred when returning the car; they gave me a bill for 670 euros. What the hell! Are they out of their minds? Just because the economy is bad doesn't mean they can do this. Passat, Passat.

Always go with Hertz
The service from Hertz was impeccable. The counter staff stayed late, past 1am, waiting for me as their last customer of the night. They had all my details ready and had me driving away in less than 5 minutes. Returning the car was a breeze also. The attendant had the inspection done before I had left the car.

The counter staff were great. We got the car that we had rented but it was not top quality. It wasn't clean, water bottle left behind not vacuumed. The front fender was bolted together, scuff marks everywhere. However, we were able to travel around Ireland with no issues.

Average
The car I received had 90,000 kilometers on it. It was too old and didn't live up to the Hertz brand. I chose Hertz because their cars are usually new, typically with only about 10,000 kilometers. Additionally, the vehicle's features were poor, and the manual sunroof was extremely inconvenient. They also required me to pay a 2000 Euro deposit.

We were three adults and two children traveling from Dublin to Tralee to visit friends. Since we had a lot of luggage and there aren't many options for different drop-off locations in Ireland, we rented a BMW 5 Series hoping for a slightly larger trunk. However, we were given a BMW 3 Series instead. When we brought this up at the counter, the staff gave a haughty response, claiming it was the same series. After we objected, they then said the original rental was a manual 5 Series and the provided car was an automatic 3 Series, so it was fine (but in reality, our order was for an automatic 5 Series). Seeing that I was about to call the rental company in China, they offered a small discount as there were no other cars of the same grade available, which wasted over an hour of our time. We had to place a small carry-on suitcase in the cabin since it couldn't fit in the trunk, forcing one of the children to put their legs on the suitcase during the trip. The management and service level are quite disappointing!

Car hire Dublin Airport.
Picking up the car was fine once location was found. Car was returned to a different location in the airport and there was no member of staff to check it back in. It has taken longer to release my funds held on my card. The excess is very high €2500 and the cost of daily insurance is a rip off, thankfully I have insurance to cover this.
