ANCONA CAR RENTAL REVIEWS

The car I got at Rome Airport needed AdBlue. I had never driven such a car before, so I didn't know it needed AdBlue. The car was almost out of AdBlue and no one told me. It gave warnings as soon as I left Rome. I had to find a repair shop and added ten liters to fill it up. The most frustrating thing was when I told the staff at the Venice Train Station branch, they just said 'it's no big deal'! Unbelievable!

I think that cars with automatic transmissions should be more commonly available for the same price. I get it, Italians like manual transmissions, but not all of your foreign customers do. Please, Avis, use better, larger signs to mark your office at Ancona train station. I selected a VW UP or similar, got a Fiat Panda FWD. The Panda is a decent enough city car, easy to drive and park and so on. However, it is comically underpowered for hills and highways, even with only me and my bags in it. Great fuel economy though.

No dollar counter so had to hunt for it a bit. Not v clear as it was handled by another counter

Required a credit card. Very reluctant to accept my Monzo debit card but did agree in the end.

App always logs me out!!! And it shifts current reservation to a past reservation the moment the time has passed so hard to find. Odd UX.

Car was an upgrade on the model booked, very comfortable!
