There were quite a few people, but fortunately, the car rental service counters at San Francisco Airport are numerous. A short wait was all it took.

This car rental company offers relatively large vehicles. I booked a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but received a TOYOTA 4RUNNER instead, which is also a large SUV. When renting a car, make sure to carefully check each price term, as they might quietly add insurance, which you need to remove.

The rental process was very smooth. Originally, I wanted to rent a Jeep, but I got a Kia Sorento instead. Thankfully, the handling was quite good.

I needed to extend the rental by a day and when I called in the first agent told me it would triple my rate. I declined as I still had to confirm I needed it and when I called back in they were able to honor the original promo price. Seems a little scammy to me or uninformed agents. Other than that I got a great deal on the car and it was a nice vehicle.

There was no proper queuing system at the Thrifty shuttle pick up point. We had 8 pieces of luggage (inc car seat and pram) and it was impossible for us to get on the shuttle bus that takes us from the Thrifty drop off office to LAX. The buses that came were either full or people have no consideration that we arrived first. We ended up having to call UberXL.
