The worst experience ever!
the car was dirty, smelly from cigarettes, and the fuel wasn't on full (half way to the other bar),
When i returned the car, the young guy that was checking me out was rude ( I think his name is Edward- not sure).
.I'm renting cars for years, all over the world, and never had this experience.
I wrote them an email about it (1st time I ever send an email about this kind of situation).
I really hope that they will find a way to compensate me.
Computers were down when we were picking up the car. Took forever. Co tracy said gas would be $2.10/gallon and counter staff said that it was per kilometer not gallon and offered no explanation why it said per gallon on the contract.
There are 3 Easy, Easi, EZ car rental shuttles at Orlando. Took 1 of those, wrong location, shuttle back to airport, shuttle to Routes. Very confusing. At night and alone. Not sure I would rent off site again. They also insisted on a binder from my auto insurance company. In MA that is only for property. Declaration page (which I had) is for auto. Finally took care of over the phone. Then the SUV I reserved wasn't available. They tried to upgrade me to a BLACK (in FL heat - no way) oversized Jeep that looked more like a hummer. I am 59 and disabled. I would have needed a step to get in. My friend I was visiting could not possibly have gotten in. Miraculously, the Rogue was available after all. In the end, the vehicle was great and return a breeze. Oh, I was overcharged about $12 from what I authorized over the phone. I haven't called about that yet. Not cool.
Had to wait about 10 minutes at MCO for the airport, and once we got to Routes it was another 10 minute wait, then I was on my way. Got a free upgrade. For the price I paid the overall experience was great.
We called and went immediately to the exact pickup stop and sat within 10 feet of the sign for pickup. The pickup van never came. I called and they said that the van had broken down and then another van would be there in 10 minutes. No van appeared. I called again after 20 minutes and they said a van would be there within 10 minutes. No van appeared after 20 minutes. I called again and rechecked that we are at the correct place and they said a van would be there in 10 minutes. No van appeared and within 20 minutes I called again but they only had an answering machine. I continue to call until midnight and we finally left and got a car with no problem from thrifty Rent-A-Car right inside the airport.
When we arrived, the time to collect the vehicle we had booked was over, so it was no longer available. For that reason we had to choose the only option that there was a Jeep.
