The store is very small, and although there are quite a few staff at the counter, not many actually working, leading to long queues. First, they pushed me to upgrade the car model, then they forced insurance on me. Ridiculous!
Took forever to get my car at LAX. Had to change vehicles a few days into the rental, at which point LAX changed my return time in SF. But when I arrived on schedule to drop off in downtown SF, the office was closed. Apparently LAX didnt know the closing time in SF. Had to go back to SF office 7am the next morning, but Thrifty charged me an extra day and a late fee - $91.33. I followed their instructions and they charge ME money for a THIRFTY MISTAKE. I am still trying to get my refund. Will never use Thrifty again.
The service attitude is just average. They often actively recommend upgrades to other models or insurance, which is not very pleasant. Additionally, there was an unusual issue regarding fuel. Normally, I receive the car with a full tank and return it with a full tank. However, this time, I might have overlooked that the contract included a 'FPO Accepted' clause, meaning 'Fuel Purchase Option.' This resulted in additional charges for a full tank, even though I returned the car with a full tank. I was charged nearly $40 for fuel, tax, and service fees. Fortunately, when I rented another car shortly after returning the first one, I noticed this issue and requested a refund. I'm currently in the refund waiting period and haven't received the refund yet. I advise all rental car users to be cautious and ask about any fees they don't understand!
After arriving late at night, I had to wait in line for an hour and a half. The staff was extremely inefficient, and they charged an additional $300 after returning the car.
Los Angeles was disappointing, they didn't allow car selection and gave us a very small car with nearly 300,000 miles on it. Las Vegas was much better, they allowed us to choose a car.
