First, let's talk about the car. The Equinox is quite average overall—small space and insufficient power. It feels a bit cramped with four people. I would recommend considering Japanese or Korean counterparts. The Hyundai Santa Fe, for example, is good; it can fit two 28-inch and two 26-inch suitcases with room to spare in the trunk. Now about Alamo, I personally think it's better than Thrifty and Budget. During our self-driving trip in Yellowstone, the car had an issue—a tire was punctured by a thick nail, and the low tire pressure warning came on. We quickly drove to the visitor center at the west gate of Yellowstone and called customer service. After about half an hour of hassle, they agreed to send a replacement car within three hours. We didn’t need to provide any evidence, just needed to have insurance. Finally, the driver brought a fully fueled Chevy Tahoe from Bozeman airport. It was a seven-seater with ample space, essentially a free upgrade, and we were very satisfied with it. We were initially worried there might be additional charges when returning the car, but our concerns were unfounded—no extra charges at all. Strongly recommend Alamo.
