The car pick-up explanation in Christchurch was very detailed, but they didn't mention that you can't return the car earlier than the contract time. In Queenstown, returning the car early means only one person checks the car and assists guests, causing long wait times.
Car was certainly used; many dents, scrathes, and star chip on the windscreen. Stereo speakers were lousy. There was a very loud rattle from the forward end of the vehichle.
All noted at end of trip and they said they would report them to mechanic.
Car ran fine and did the job comfortably.
Car was old, very high mileage 162k
Back bumper held on by black tap, big dent in the roof, front bumper coming away from bodywork lots of small dent and scratches, radio only worked on right hand speaker. Basically car should not be used for rental. $2,500 deposit left for any damages was more than what the car was worth
Discount Car Rentals is great, only issue I had is that their pick-up/drop-off location does not populate on maps in my Iphone. It took me awhile before I could figure out how to get to the location. **Pick-up was no issue as you just meet them at the airport**
