The service desk is not inside the airport. I had to borrow a local's phone to contact the rental company for a pickup, which took about five to six minutes. The original car model wasn't available, so they offered a Passat. The fuel tank wasn't full, the car wasn't cleaned, and there were several long women's hairs inside. The car was covered in scratches. Additionally, my credit card didn't go through, so I couldn't rent the car. They returned me to the airport where I switched to Avis, and the same credit card worked without any issues. I will not use Alamo again.
When booking the car, it was stated that the cost would be 1316, but we were actually charged 1847. The rental company added a lot of additional insurance without informing us and charged our credit card before showing us the contract for signing. The entire contract was in Turkish, which we couldn't understand. We thought we had purchased full coverage insurance, so we signed it. Now, they refuse to refund us, claiming we lack evidence and that our signature means we accepted the charges. How could anyone know they were being scammed and record everything on the spot for evidence? This is consumer deception and forced charges!
The return phone number was unreachable, and I waited nearly an hour to pick up the car.
