Not bad, very easy to locate. Overall experience was good, no one tried to sell additional insurance. The car pickup was smooth. On the way to Carmen, I encountered police who stopped me and said, 'Friend, you're driving too slow at the intersection, that's a $200 fine.' I explained that I had just arrived due to a delayed flight and didn’t have cash on me. The officer asked how much money I had and mentioned that any currency would do. I said I had none, then he said he would confiscate my driver’s license and I could retrieve it in Tulum. I agreed, but he asked again if I had any cash on me, to which I shook my head. Finally, he gave up. The car return process was smooth. Your company is quite large and part of the Mas group—highly recommend using them.
They always try to upsell you on renting a more expensive car. When that didn't work, they made me buy a full tank of gas. I felt embarrassed and bought it, which turned out to be a scam because you can't return the car with an empty tank. However, I'm used to being taken advantage of in Mexico.
They wouldn't allow me to rent a car with my Chinese driver's license and a notarized translation. Instead, they charged me an extra $6 per day for a special waiver, costing me an additional $42. Probably because the price was lower, there were a lot of people picking up cars that day. It took about 40 minutes to complete the paperwork, and then another half hour to actually get the car. Overall, it was a very poor experience, and I won't choose this company again.
“Great car and price, but a lot of pressure to buy extras.”
About MEX:8.3/10
Mex salesperson, kept telling me that since I purchased insurance through EasyRentCars, I was not insured locally and that I would have to buy insurance through them. I insisted I was already covered, because what I bought from EasyRentCar and due to another travel policy on my Credit card, and they very unwillingly let me leave but only after putting down a very hefty cash deposit which would have been lost if any accidents. It made the experience a pain and I felt like I was being preyed upon. (Even though I spoke Spanish and was very nice to them.)
“Bravo qualité des produits et accueil excellent
Continue comme ca”
