Idaho Falls airport is quite small, with all the rental car counters located in the main hall. Head directly to the ALAMO rental car counter, wait in line for a short while, and then it's your turn. After submitting the reservation, driver's license, and notarized documents, the rental process was very smooth and convenient. The staff did not recommend or suggest any additional services, and provided the parking spot number. The parking lot is just outside the airport entrance, with rows of neatly arranged cars from various rental companies. We got a white full-size SUV, which was unexpectedly large at first sight. The car was about 80-90% new with approximately 30,000 miles on it. We noticed some small scratches on the body, took photos, and reported it to the counter. The staff reassured us that small scratches are not a big deal and they wouldn’t charge us for them, so no worries. During use, we felt the car's power was a bit lacking, which might be a common issue with American cars. The brakes felt soft, not as firm as the German cars we were used to, and the handbrake had some issues causing minor rollbacks. The storage cooler next to the driver's seat (with an air conditioning vent) was particularly large and very useful, and the rearview mirror had a parking camera. On the last day, the car’s oil system warning light came on, indicating that oil replacement was needed. We checked and found it could be delayed for a while, and it lasted until we returned the car. Returning the car was just as convenient, overall a very smooth experience.
