Booked a 2014 Mustang online with full payment. Upon pickup, was told only one left, and found a hole in the roof where you could stick your hand through. Had no choice but to pay extra on the spot to get a 2017 Mustang. When I got back to the hotel, I found the sound system, rearview camera, and door locks didn't work, and I couldn’t lock the car. Had to drive back to the rental shop. The female Chinese employee told me not to worry about the door locks! They gave me a third car (she even tried to charge me extra, which I firmly refused!). By then it was dark. When I checked the car with my phone flashlight, I saw the entire left side was scratched and the front bumper was half falling off with visible gaps. Finally got a fourth car that had no issues. Originally supposed to pick up at 6 PM, but after spending an extra $20, finally got the car at 8 PM to go for dinner.
【Pickup】You can call the store, and they will send a car to pick you up. Upon arrival, you fill out a basic information form, provide your passport and driver's license. Once registration is complete, the staff will use a map to explain important details, attractions, and driving routes. They will then hand you the keys and show you the car. Take a video or pictures of the car to document its condition and avoid potential disputes later. Then you're ready to go.
【Drop-off】When you return to the store, the staff will check the car. If everything is fine, they will return your deposit and the process is complete. You can also ask the store to take you back to your hotel.
The pickup location was supposed to be near the Kanoa Resort, but the store there was closed without any prior notice. I searched for half an hour and couldn’t reach anyone by phone. After asking around, I found out there was another store about 7-8 kilometers away. When I called that store, they informed me I had to go there to pick up the car. It took two hours, and I finally got the car around 9 PM, completely ruining my evening plans and dinner.
I rented a 7-seater Mercedes, but when I went to pick up the car, I found its condition wasn't great. I requested a change, and they replaced it with two Toyota SUVs. Later, the shop upgraded them to two off-road vehicles for free. I am satisfied with this.
