So I booked a mid size convertible only for them to try to give me a Nissan. When I swiped them the paperwork that it says Ford Focus Cabrio or similar I explained a non-Cabrio is not similar. So they spoke to the manager and came back with the only Cabrio keys they had. A Benz. I was satisfied to say the least.
I booked a Mercedes but got a Volkswagen T5 instead, which was slightly frustrating. However, the service attitude was fine, and there were no major issues as long as communication was normal.
They didn't provide any German cars. When I asked why I couldn't get a BMW or Audi, the staff said it was because I was going to the Czech Republic, where security is relatively poor. But before asking about my travel plans, I already saw he had prepared the keys for a Ford. This means they never intended to lend out German cars in the first place! I wasn't very satisfied with this.
However, the Ford Mondeo I used was quite good. It had a lot of space and was very comfortable, which is definitely better than Mercedes or BMW in the same class.
The staff were initially quite enthusiastic, but later they recommended insurance worth about 200 euros. We showed her the rental agreement and explained that we had already purchased collision coverage in our country, but the staff said that the insurance bought domestically wouldn't cover it here. She emphasized that even a minor scratch would have to be compensated for if we didn't buy their insurance. With no other option, and after nearly an hour of trying to contact the rental company (the phone numbers provided couldn't be reached abroad), the staff became very impatient with the time we were taking. We ended up reluctantly purchasing the 200-euro insurance. We had originally booked an automatic car, but they gave us a manual one. Fortunately, the German staff who helped us pick up the car quickly arranged for us to switch to an automatic vehicle.
I apologize for the late review! Picking up the car at the airport was very smooth, and the car was quite new. It performed well during use, and the fuel consumption was very low! The whole trip was very comfortable. I rented a Golf, and it easily accommodated three people and three large pieces of luggage!
