Pick-up Instructions

The BARGAIN - Sydney Airport car rental location is located out of the airport

After collecting your luggage please call 1300 729 230 and press option 1 to request the shuttle bus service to our near-airport location during the location’s operating hours. FROM T1 (International): Exit the international terminal to the right and follow signs to (All Buses). Proceed to the shuttle pick-up area, bays 12 – 21, which is across the road from the Rydges Hotel. FROM T2 (Jetstar/Virgin/Rex): Exit T2 building to the left and proceed past the buses sign and cross the pedestrian crossing. Follow the sign to the Shuttles T2 and our shuttle service will arrive in bays 4 – 7. FROM T3 (Qantas): Exit T3, turn right and proceed across the pedestrian crossing to shuttle bays 4 – 7.

Drop-off Instructions

Please return the vehicle to our off-site depot located 1581 Botany Road, Botany and we will shuttle you back to the airport terminal. This service does not need to be booked but is only available within business hours and 20 minutes prior to closing. Please allow enough time to wait for the shuttle to arrive (approximately 20 min).

Convenient for pick-up and drop-off. Although the phone for pick-up was always unreachable, when we arrived at the pick-up location, there was a rental car company vehicle waiting for us. It seemed to be dedicated to picking us up, and it left immediately once we showed the rental slip. It appears the company takes great care of each customer.

It was okay. The front desk staff were very friendly and the process was convenient. However, the passenger door had a dent when returning the car. Fortunately, I had taken pictures beforehand (even though I had full insurance). I suggest the rental company repairs any damage beforehand to avoid affecting customer experience.

I specifically asked how they treat toll roads and I was advised that it was a $5 per day fee. But it was a $5 per toll extra fee and the admin fee was more than the car hire. I paid about $100 in admin fees whereas the car hire was only $60.

The pick up and drop off process took 60-75 minutes from reaching the airport to departing with the car (and vice versa). Extremely slow due to the shuttle process (waited 30-45 minutes both ways). The counter staff is reasonably pleasant, but the shuttle service is quite poor. The ideal service would be to wait less than 10 minutes on each side and this is far from that!

There was still some mild upselling. The vehicle condition could be better maintained. It seems to be a legitimate large car rental company, but the vehicle condition is quite average. It's drivable, but with high mileage, driving it feels a bit laborious.
