When I returned the car, I was charged for several optional insurance services without my knowledge, and the amount was deducted a few days after the return. I had already returned the car, so why would I need additional insurance? I called to complain and was told it was a system error. They promised to refund the $223 USD charge, but I still haven't received the payment.
Pickup was a disaster. There was a huge line, and only two guys working. They took forever to check out each customer, and stopped between each customer to talk over the radios. Something was obviously wrong, but there was zero communication to the huge line of waiting customers. It was almost midnight and lots of lucky customers that hadn’t prepaid left the line and went to a different rental agency. To add salt to the wound, the Avis line, right beside us was moving three or four times faster. I won’t be using Budget again.
Very good. The counter staff will try to sell extra insurance, but as long as you clearly decline, they won't push it, and the rental process is completed quickly.
The car was too old and shook when starting, making it a nerve-wracking drive! I originally planned to return it on the 22nd but ended up returning it on the night of the 21st. This was the first time I've encountered such poor vehicle condition with this company.
The waiting time was too long, over three hours, and the reserved car was not ready upon our turn. We were also persuaded to purchase a full tank of fuel.
