Like: I like the fact that you kept your promise and reduced my rental cost when prices dropped. I liked the car and customer advisors efficiency. Dislike: I would have like to hand the car back to your representative instead of dropping the key in a box. This removes any doubt about condition of it in return. Sat nav should be given as standard.
The staff was courteous during pickup, and even without a line, the process took over 20 minutes, which felt a bit slow. But on the day of return, we were inexplicably charged a large fee. When we filed a complaint with the car rental company, it took over a month for them to respond that the charges were for additional insurance, a child seat, and prepaid fuel. But we had brought our child seat from China, and we returned the car with a full tank. We had been too trusting and handed the car over to the parking staff, who did a brief check and told us we could leave. As a result, we were unfairly charged. After much negotiation, the charges were eventually refunded, but the long complaint process really affected our experience. In the future, we will make sure to verify all these details before leaving.

When picking up the car, we were told that the vehicle we booked was not available. We had to either pay extra for an upgrade or take a lower-tier car. We opted to pay more and chose an Audi A3. After returning home, I found out that this car is considered the same grade as the one I originally booked at another rental company, but not with Europcar, where it was considered a higher grade, costing an extra 40 euros per day.
At the counter, we were asked if we wanted to return the car with a full tank of gas. The desk clerk advised us not to, saying it would save us time as we wouldn't have to look for a gas station before returning the car. We followed the advice, but upon returning the car, we were charged an extra 100 euros for fuel. The original order had the full-tank requirement, which the counter made us believe was adjusted with the additional charges. This whole experience was terrible, and we had to accept the loss after returning home.
Service was good, but the staff's English at the Avignon location was not very strong, probably because they get fewer foreign visitors. When signing the receipt, I didn't understand it at first and the explanations were unclear, but I eventually figured it out using my phone to check the numbers. Also, I'm not used to driving a manual car, so I didn't know how to shift into reverse when parking. I had to ask someone on the street for help, which was embarrassing. Don't expect the staff to give you a tutorial, so if you're not familiar with manual cars, it's best to test everything before driving and ask questions immediately if you have any doubts.
