As the supplier's policy you could find on your voucher:
It may seem counter-intuitive, but returning your car early may actually cost you money. You might have to pay an early return fee, your rate structure might change, leaving you responsible for the difference. But even worse, you are not entitled to a refund of the unused days due to the fact that the booking's price comes in a package and cannot be separtated.

The staff at the rental location (1) did not seriously check my license with the address provided, but instead asked for my Chinese residential address; (2) altered the insurance terms without my consent and attempted to deceive me into signing (I insisted and got the insurance terms corrected); (3) provided incorrect information about using the 407 toll route, claiming that using it would result in a tenfold penalty, whereas after contacting e-tolls, I found out that using any toll route only requires paying the relevant fees after returning the car; (4) did not inform me whether the rented vehicle was diesel or gasoline, and I couldn't find this information inside the car, so I had to call for clarification before refueling.
The car was great, but the counter initially said they just didn't have the car I booked for but opted for pick up trucks and smaller SUVs. I insisted that we needed the medium size SUV we booked for, which he eventually gave. The Santa Fe had great options though. Overall, a great vehicle.
I arrived late at the airport and there was only one staff serving a long queue of costumers but there were obviously some other staff available in the back office.
