I rented my car at Terminal 1 of Osaka Kansai Airport. There are about four or five car rental companies at the pickup location. Based on my observation, Europcar had the fewest staff, with only one person. Among these companies, only Nippo Car Rental operates 24 hours a day. Make sure to pay attention to this, so you don't make the same mistake I did. My mistake was that my flight was delayed. I actually double-checked with the car rental company beforehand to confirm that there would be staff available if my flight was delayed. They assured me there would be, but in reality, we ended up stranded for a whole night because Europcar was already closed.
The staff's English was decent, so communication wasn’t a big problem, which is notable because many Japanese people don't speak English well. The pickup and drop-off process was fairly quick, and the locations were convenient. The car model I rented was very fuel-efficient; I only used half a tank after driving around for a while. Thumbs up for that.
The staff service was pretty good overall. However, there were a few minor issues that caused some inconvenience. At Fukuoka Airport, I had to make a phone call, but there were major issues with the front desk phone line—calls couldn't connect properly, and even when connected, voices couldn't be heard. It took half an hour to successfully make the call. Additionally, I had to take a shuttle van to the rental store. Another dissatisfaction was that the actual rented vehicle was completely different from the one shown in the photo. Due to time constraints, I had no choice but to settle for it.

We had issues with our IDP which wasn't dated (error by Post Office in the UK) but it took an hour to convince Europcar/Times to accept it was valid. Otherwise the Times staff were helpful and the return drop off details very good.

I don't know why ask me to comment on Eurocar as i pick the car from times rental. Anyway the Japanese staff were excellent in everything. Service, car, information. I give 5 star for it and will definitely use this company again!
