The return process was simple and efficient, very good. When picking up the car, they checked my Chinese driver's license, Dutch passport, and China Bank Visa card for a long time and said it was not acceptable. After explaining for a while and showing my long-term work visa for China, they finally gave me the car. Their staff have different levels of competence.

There were no designated Avis parking spots at the Barcelona rental location; the car was parked in a regular garage spot. The rental was upgraded without notice, and we only found out upon collecting the car. Because the parking lot was far from the rental office and difficult to find, we didn't bother to go back and exchange it. A silver Opel parked next to our rental shadowed us, and when we stopped at a service area for less than ten minutes, the entire car was emptied. The car lock and windows were undamaged. We reported everything to the police and found witnesses, but it's hard to say if there was any foul play, and we had to bear the loss ourselves. When returning the car, the Avis staff were also very rude. After the incident, contacting the rental customer service provided only official responses. Overall, very unsatisfied and will not use them again.

The actual price was much higher than the booking price. For customers with limited English, there were many additional charges that were not explained. There was no inspection sheet during pickup and no receipt during return. They just asked for a signature on a PDA screen.

Very bad, I will never use this company again. 1. I reserved a mid-sized MPV equivalent to a Sharan, but they gave me a Touran, which is much smaller. After hitting the road, I realized it was the lowest configuration, which was really disappointing. 2. I returned the car 20 minutes late and was charged an extra day's rental fee, which makes no sense. When I argued with them, they just said it's the rule. Impossible to communicate! 3. The deposit I paid doesn't seem to be accounted for; AVIS said it's a service fee and they don't know anything about it, still impossible to communicate with them. So, I hope to resolve the following issues: 1. Is it reasonable to charge an extra day for being 20 minutes late? Please inform me. I saw on the receipt that there's an overtime fee calculated by time, not by a full day. 2. When will my deposit be refunded? Please explain. Bad review, I'll go with Hertz next time, AVIS is truly a mess.
