Pickup and drop-off at the airport were very convenient. The service attitude was excellent, and we were very satisfied with the car's condition. Although it was a small Swift, it was quite spacious and had good power.
The rental process is very convenient. Just provide the order, driver's license, and translation, and it's quickly processed. When picking up the car, they directly tell you the location, and you go there yourself, completely self-service. Returning the car is just handing over the keys, and no one checks the car. Very convenient.
I booked a X-Trail, but got an Outlander instead. The car had 26,000 kilometers on it and drove very smoothly. The service wasn't particularly outstanding; it was neither overly enthusiastic nor indifferent, just straightforward and clear. I appreciate this kind of clear process and communication.
The store service was generally okay, but the promised free upgrade was not honored. We requested an upgrade several times, but the staff did not agree, which was very disappointing.
The final rental payment should have only been around 600, but I was charged over 300 AUD after returning to my home country. I am very frustrated and still investigating the reason. I incurred no additional fees with Hertz.
Budget didn't offer full coverage insurance. We added a $450 no-deductible insurance, but when we returned the car, there was a tiny scratch and we had to pay $450. Honestly, we had no idea when it got scratched. There are many trees in Tasmania, so it's easy to get scratched. Be careful while driving. The car we got was very new, which was a plus. The staff also mentioned that if we hadn't gotten that insurance, we could have been charged $2000 for just a tiny scratch!
When renting the car, they suddenly asked if we hadn't called in the morning to say we would pick up the car in the afternoon. We were confused because we were on the plane. Fortunately, after a brief conversation, they realized they had made a mistake and quickly completed the paperwork, allowing us to get the car.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
